We’ve had so much going on since last post and never got around to posting anything, but now since we are calming down and getting into a routine I can now make time to update this blog hopefully when I want to. I will get to all the details in between with what we’ve been up to, but for this post I will just make it about Kaden from his heart stand point.
April 4th, We went back to Houston to Texas Children’s Hosptial so he could get the full work up check over by his cardiologist there, Dr. F(hard name to spell and say. Lol), and be seen by Dr. Fraser himself. Thankfully we got the news we were hopeing for. It was a lot different from last visit which is when we were told he would have to have surgery this summer. :/ BUT this time EVERYTHING was stable, Praise God! Which put us back to where we were before…waiting. Dr. Fraser as well as Dr. F, wants him to be kept an eye on every 4-6 months. As soon as he starts showing symptoms of heart distress or his left ventricle start enlarging more than it already is, or when his aortic valve starts showing signs of wear and tear, that’s when it will be surgery time. When will this be?!?! We have NO idea. That’s why Dr. Fraser wants to keep a close eye on him. Thankfully we won’t have to make the 5 ½ hour trip every 4-6 months. He said he felt comfortable with his local cardiologist (Dr. Pearse) keeping an eye on him. Which a hour drive is soo much better than a 5 ½ hour drive.
June 23, We took him back to see Dr. Pearse for his check up. These appointments never get any easier either. BUT once again God prevailed. Everything was stable, and looked good. And as in the words of Dr. Pearse, “His heart is liking the Enalapril!” We don’t have to take him back for 6 months. Thankful we are now able to enjoy the rest of our summer.
Kaden will be starting Kindergarten on August 23. Thankful he is able to start with out being interrupted by a surgery. Now we are praying this next appointment goes well. Kaden has some exciting news to share in the next post that has been keeping us busy. He’s loving every minute of it. : ) Thank you all for keeping Kaden in your prayers, and please continue to do so. I never seen a kid dodge so many chances of surgery, but with God in control anything is possible and prayerfully he won’t ever have to have a surgery. This has made the 3rd time (2 mons old, 2 yrs old, 5 yrs old) we’ve been told ok it’s surgery time, then they change their mind. God is Good!
Now on to the next post….(as you can see I'm working on updating the blog too. :) )
